Hi, I’m Sarah.
I’m not very good at balancing.
I’m working on that.

Who am I?
A wife, daughter, sister, friend, auntie.
A human resources professional working in higher education.
A yogini, cook and newly inspired, creative soul (this has been missing for quite a while).
I am quiet, shy, loud and bold. I am sweet, understanding, sarcastic and saucy. It all depends on where I am and who I’m with.
I am a recovering perfectionist. It’s a daily battle. 😉
Why “Practicing Balance”?
Well, because creating balance in my life is a daily practice. We live in a hectic, noisy and demanding world. Responsibilities and distractions can inundate us at every moment of the day. I am easily pulled back and forth between my opposing roles and dispositions.
In order to have balance, I must actively practice balance.
When do I practice balance?
- When I am juggling multiple projects, meetings and emails at the office
- When I really want another order of sweet potato fries/slice of cheese/pint of beer, but I’ve already had plenty
- When a yoga teacher invites me to take Half Moon Pose
- When I could log in to check a few more emails or read another blog, but I really should shut the laptop down and share some laughs with my husband
Why did I create this blog?
I love to share my thoughts on life, work, play, creativity and sometimes a few deep, dark topics that aren’t always fun, but are so important to talk about in life. I want to encourage others to engage, connect and practice balance in our work and our lives.
